Try, Tried, and True

Five Minute Friday: TRY

In training with a business mentor, Dani Johnson, I was continually reminded that there is no "try" in success. Having the attitude, "I'm going to give it a try," is a recipe for failure.

In making a quantum leap, God's been showing me that the recipe for success is seeing by faith, listening to what Heaven is saying, and then acting upon that, no matter what it looks like. It requires FOCUS, because what we focus on is empowered and enlarged. That's what we're going to get more of.

There is no glory without trials, because every problem is equipped with provision. God's justice system is perfectly balanced, and if anyone desires to live a God-glorifying kind of life, we will be refined, tried, and found true – or not. Our choice is to live in a love-based reality or to entertain those mind monkeys called doubts and fears.

It's the quality of life you have lived that will be weighed on the balance scales. The measuring rod is, "How well did you love?" This love-based reality is where we're designed to live.

And He said to him, "What is written in the Law? How does it read to you?" And he answered, "YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND; AND YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." And He said to him, "You have answered correctly; DO THIS AND YOU WILL LIVE."… – Luke 10:26-28

always need to remind myself of these truths, because in the midst of a great trial it's still tempting to feel rejected, abandoned, and alone.

Thank you, God, for my problems today… and the provision that comes, even two mercies for every woe!

"…every problem is equipped with provision." I'm letting those words sink down to my toes. The words are so good.

I was fighting off a worry tonight by praying my heart. The biggest part of what helped my heart ease was confidence in God's provision (and not in the outcome I wanted). While I prayed before reading this, I am allthemore encouraged to keep looking to Him rather than "entertain those mind monkeys" (That phrase made me chuckle. I can totally visualize the monkeys running wild.)

Thank you for visiting my blog.

"Mind monkeys."  Love that–they are always at work in hopes of keeping us from doing.  Keep fighting the monkeys, as we all will!
