Pursue Being Powerful

Pursue Being Powerful

By: Susan Deborah Schiller

After the glory which could be seen with human eyes, he began to see the glory which is beyond and after light. – Madeleine L'Engle

There are many of us who have given our all. We've laid down ministries, businesses, and have watched even our reputation ruined in the aftermath of abusive situations.

We've prayed and rejoiced, declaring God's promises by faith, and we've taken action. We counted the cost and paid the price, but we don't yet see the fruits of our labor and sacrifice. We know there is a mission for us to complete but it feels like the strain against evil forces is so great that our lives may be lost before we can reach our destiny.

Have we not loved God enough? Is there someone we haven't forgiven or a person we have offended? While some ministries are operating in signs, wonders, and miracles, we have been walking in the wilderness. This has been a hard path, a confusing time, and we are too powerless to make anything happen. We tend to get stuck complaining.

People who are powerless often blame the messes that they make on other people. The reason their life, marriage, child, finances, job or whatever is the way it is has nothing to do with their choices. These people will continue to re-create their victimized reality as long as they refuse to repent (change the way they think) and pursue being powerful. – Danny Lee Silk

It's time for change; it's time to see some miracles.

Chris Anderson paints the picture for me so much better than I, when he concludes a recent article by saying:

Recently, I have been endeavoring to embrace and give thanks for tribulation. But the journey proceeds past that. Today, amid extreme pressure, I want to embrace the sufficiency of His love for me to cover the costs I have had to bear on the road of loving Him and which love this ministry has sought to impart to the church.

Amid the tribulation then—the fear, the insecurity, the isolation, the rejection, the separations, the constriction, the paralysis—all evoked by our love—let’s turn to the sufficiency of His love and see what happens. At the bent of every thought related to these “fightings without and fears within,” let’s give up on the sufficiency of our love and turn toward the sufficiency of His love, and see what happens.

I think we might just begin to see some miracles.

Don't give up. Look up. Let's begin to see the glory that is beyond what we yet know. Let's trust God's Love instead of our own. Let His joy bubble up from deep inside, in that very place where you feel you don't have breath enough left to breathe.

Let His peace resurrect your spirit from death caused by word curses spoken over you by religious zealots. Let the jealousy be turned into a river of blessing. The evil ends now. That is a word I heard spoken in my spirit, as I arose from bed.

Taste it on your lips. Turn those words over in your mouth: "This evil ends now." Tune in to heaven. Dial up for His-story and write the letter down to read again and again. This is a new season, a fresh beginning. Don't look back. That's not your story anymore. Let's pursue being powerful.

“For the mystery of LAWLESSNESS is already at work; only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way. And then the LAWLESS one will be revealed, and the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of his mouth and destroy him by his appearing and his coming. The coming of the LAWLESS one by the activity of Satan will be with all power and with pretended signs and wonders,”

(2 Thess 2:7-10)
