Hello! Welcome to Day 1 of the "Life Story Game"!
I'm really glad you've joined us in the "Life Story Game" because I know from experience how rewarding creating a life story book is!
This is going to be fun, so let's dig right into the details of how this works:
- Starting tomorrow you will receive a selection of 5-10 "Life Story Interview Prompts" via email.
- Select 1-2 questions that you would really like to talk about with your loved ones. You decide how you want to get together…. phone, Skype, face-to-face, etc.
- Record your loved one's answers and send to me by hitting reply to the email I sent to you. Include your name and your loved one's name, so that I will know who the author is… I have several books in the making on my computer, so I want to file your info in the right place!
- Send me 1-2 photos per week that will work nicely with your stories.
- Each time you send me stories and photos, please remember to write a sentence releasing me to publish your stories and photos, like: "Susan, please publish these stories and photos in my life story book, for me – thanks!"
- Either wait for my next email to arrive in a day or two, or go ahead and create your own questions and answers and send them to me!
While you're having fun with your family, I will be collecting your data, organizing it, designing your pages, uploading your photos, and preparing your life story book for publishing.
When you feel your story is complete, or at the end of four weeks, whichever comes first, I will send you a preview of your book. Your will have one opportunity to edit it, and then upon your approval, your book can be published. You may order it right there from the preview page! Prices begin at $12.95. Prices vary according to number of pages, photos … plus whether you choose hard-cover, soft-cover, premium pages, etc.
Please be sure to check your email tomorrow for your first set of life story interview prompts. And in the meantime, you may want to begin collecting from 20-30 photos that you would like to add to your life story book. Other memorabilia is welcome (anything that can be scanned)… such as recipes, important documents and awards, newspaper clippings, etc.
