Rely on Me, says the Lord, for I am your strength when you feel weak and unable to rise to the occasion. When you cannot raise yourself up, let Me lift you up. Nothing is too difficult for Me. Believe that I will intervene on your behalf and do that which is beyond your human energy or ability to achieve. Your faith will make it possible.
Mark 11:22 So Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God."
Today, I'm picturing running my race in a whole new light… the light of a relay race. When I can't run any farther because of overwhelming fatigue or opposition, Jesus is right beside me, racing with me. And it's okay to pass the baton to Him. We're partners on the same team. He's equipped to win this race; I am not, apart from Him.
I see the finish line, even now. As I cross it, it's with joy and gratitude that I got to race with Him! How can I not look at obstacles and trials as nothing but passing things…
Even this grief that sometimes resurfaces – this overwhelmingly deep pain – it's just a temporary, passing thing. What is set before me – this rich inheritance in Christ – means everything to me!
So I will run for my life today, one more relay at a time. One more moment of relying on Him. One more second of watching His confident face. One more nano-second of Trust, Faith, and Victory moment-by-moment.
Evil thought he had fixed my race so that I would be humiliated and shamed. But now my race is already won!
How about you? How's your race going today? Do you feel fatigued, challenged, or overwhelmed? Do you already see His face, running right next to you and how confident He is, so willing to grab the baton and even carry you through to the end? I hope so. This is the real story of our lives… this adventure in faith… in trust… in love.
