The Code that Turns Dark to Light, Crooked to Straight

The Code: Making the Dark Light

By: Susan Schiller

"All Truth is God's Truth," was the first lesson I learned in college. Truth is the code that unlocks our inheritance – that launches us into a radical lifestyle – the one that Jesus modeled for us, and then told us, "You can do even greater things than I."

A written Truth was the code Jesus used to fend off greed, shortcuts to glory, and lack. In the desert Satan tempted Him and He used the code, "It is written…" and it made darkness turn to light. It made crooked places straight. He walked on the straight and narrow path that leads to life.

Isaiah 42:16 I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, and not forsake them.

"It is written." Those are the exact words Jesus used when all hell broke loose, attempting to take him down a wrong path.

That's the code that unlocks your inheritance. It is written…

21-22 “Set up signposts to mark your trip home.
    Get a good map.
Study the road conditions.
The road out is the road back…

23-24 A Message from Israel’s God-of-the-Angel-Armies: “When I’ve turned everything around and brought my people back, the old expressions will be heard on the streets: ‘God bless you!’ . . . ‘O True Home!’ . . . ‘O Holy Mountain!’ All Judah’s people, whether in town or country, will get along just fine with each other. — Jeremiah 31

God's bringing us home. The road out, is the way back. It's back to  Eden living, where we walk and talk with our Father, in intimacy. It's a new Day.

The whole earth is waiting for us to rise up. To use our voices. To speak the words, "It is written!"

For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. — Romans 8:18

Some of us see the new thing God's doing and we're racing ahead to create sustainable living colonies, we're working toward social and economic justice, and we're trying to live naked and unashamed…. BUT, we're still dragging some of the Old World into the New.

Our fears still cause us to desire control.

Our greed still tempts us to manipulate.

Our pride trips us up, pushing us to reject, betray, and shun those who would speak the truth and would help us walk in the Light.

We're leading people on crooked paths, but that can change, as each of us individually and collectively begins to use the Code: "It is written."

The Code is Eternal Truth. It's not the Bible alone. The Bible, itself, says that God's Word cannot be contained in its limited pages.

The Truth is within us, in our hearts. (John 14)

The Truth is around us, in all of nature. (Psalm 19).

The Truth makes us a free people, no longer under bondage to the rules of the Old World that we grew up with: fear, pride, and greed. They have been replaced by the Code, which is based on hope, faith, and love.

As we write our stories, we are writing the Truth of what happened. We are also writing the Truth of what will happen. We are creating our future, using the Code.

The Code is the most powerful weapon on earth!

We are writing ourselves into the promises of Malachi 4, Isaiah 61, and much more! It's a radical lifestyle of intimacy with our Father, speaking and doing only His will. And His will is love, peace, and joy for all of us. He's bringing us home! It is written:

Malachi 4 The Message (MSG)

1-3 “Count on it: The day is coming, raging like a forest fire. All the arrogant people who do evil things will be burned up like stove wood, burned to a crisp, nothing left but scorched earth and ash— a black day. But for you, sunrise! The sun of righteousness will dawn on those who honor my name, healing radiating from its wings. You will be bursting with energy, like colts frisky and frolicking. And you’ll tromp on the wicked. They’ll be nothing but ashes under your feet on that Day.” God-of-the-Angel-Armies says so.

…   5-6 “But also look ahead: I’m sending Elijah the prophet to clear the way for the Big Day ofGod—the decisive Judgment Day! He will convince parents to look after their children and children to look up to their parents. If they refuse, I’ll come and put the land under a curse.”

Writing Prompt: We're on the way home… beginning with restoring the backbone of society: the family. One "it is written" at a time. And today, it's your turn… what Truth are you writing? How are you creating your world? What Truth is constructing your current circumstance? What lie is derailing you? How can you change your story by using the Code?

I cannot begin to tell you how grateful that I am that God lead me to your page. What a blessing it has been to read that I'm NOT crazy.  I've spent the last 6 1/2 years in a relationship with a sociopath, that has almost taken my life…several times.  It has been a silent, lonely dark place that even my closest friends and spiritual counselirs couldn't understand. Often, I was categorized as a codependent, which I accepted, because I honestly didn't have the 'wherewithal' to name it anything different. But, I knew it was much more insidious than that. I had lost my own identity and didn't even recognize myself anymore.

Now, about two months on the other side of 'no contact', the haze is lifting and the light is shining on the truth of what I've actually survived. Ironically, my daughter (a incredibly devoted Christian seeking her law degree in Religious Liberties) and I share the same experience of being survivors of sociopaths.  Mine was with a man using the 'God card' as his hook every time he got caught cheating/lying'…gets with a young aspiring pastor during his residency (a perfect blessed life for her to be honored by being a pastors wife). Yet, our stories both end the same, regardless of the origin of the men that 'brainwashed' us. Only mine was years…hers was months.

Her and I both are 'action' oriented people. Always looking for where God is leading us and wanting to use us in leading others. Last night, we were able to open the dialogue of 'what Satan meant for harm, God will use for good'. And, living our experience of abuse at the hand of sociopaths, we understand, not only the devastation and the aloneness of no one truly understanding what we were experiencing (and, that it becomes impossible to just say 'I deserve better and will no longer tolerant the incredible disrespect, degradation and abuse'), that there is a HUGE ministry in breathing life into the people in the middle of the suffering.  The ripple effect, divisiveness and destruction to families and to churches that sociopaths create is something that most could never see, if they've never lived it. It's a pain that words cannot describe. Literally, unbearable emotionally, physically, mentally AND spiritually. It may be darkest Satanic ploy in existence, because of the outreach beyond the actual victim/survivor.

This site has helped…so much…to flip on the light (huge mega volt spotlight!!) on the darkness for me…which has a GREATER end result than the darkness it's spotlighting!! Thank GOD!!! There IS life on the other side of this!! A couple of weeks ago, I actually didn't believe that.  Because of the stories you and your readers have shared, I finally understand  It has been life saving, and life giving, to read the exact shared experiences here. I cry. My heart breaks. I truly FEEL each readers thoughts and stories here. I've literally lived each side of each post over the last decade.

THANK YOU for your heart and passion to have this place as a resource for the ones of us that never knew we were not alone.  I can finally exhale  I have hope  I'm inspired.  And, you have lit a fire here in me!!! I do not want to give the enemy any power by not using my experience to help give others hope and support that can survive this! They may have been sifted…but, they are still Gods!!! And, HE has the final say over how their life ends!! And, how it ends is MUCH better than how it's been!!!

Thank you…again.  This is truly life saving!!!

You can't fully understand your story until it's written. It's in the writing that you come to understand your life story. When you learn to tell your story from the perspective of Redemption, no longer do you have to hide behind a mask that our culture tells you is "proper".

Seven Sentence Sunday  – 3 Nov 13
"Get your ducks in a row.  Little ducklings don't get in a row, instead, they follow their mother.  I've tried for decades to get in a proper row, to behave accordingly, to train to be somthing for someone, or to lead some group.
Paul said, "Follow me as I follow Christ,"(1 Cor 1:11) and I've found that kind of 'training' to be most prosperous to my soul and circumstances.
Whether I look to Paul following Christ in Corinthians,Ephesians, Romans, etc.; or, I look to Jesus, the Word, the Revelator, the Lover..    the way is easy.(Matt. 11:30)

Easy, He says… Light, He shines… Love He shows.
I will get in line for that.

I can just picture this, Linda…. all across the world today – Sunday…. think of all the rows. I know you’re speaking figuratively, but sometimes a visual like that jumps out, too.

I tried it for almost as many decades as I am old (I’m 52)… it doesn’t work, not one little bit. I’m so glad you mentioned 1 Corinthians, because I’ve often thought of that verse… Paul wasn’t looking to build a following, and neither did Jesus. He wasn’t trying to start a movement, just to spark a fire of love in people’s hearts … all the “one another’s”. He didn’t appreciate people following leaders, and even told them not to follow him.

I like how you bring us right back to the Word, Linda… to the Word, who is Christ Himself.

I’ll get in line for easy, light, and shining… oh yes!

Thanks for sparking me today, Linda…. I haven’t officially started the Seven Sentence Sunday…. and you are, with power-paragraph…. you really do need to get your blog up and going! Now, how can I help you get started??? šŸ™‚ šŸ™‚ šŸ™‚

I love this:  "You have a story, and if you don't like your current story, you can change it."

And this: "The ripple effects of your sharing your story will touch the next generation. You can change the future!

Your story is a sign post for the next generation, for your peers, and even for yourself"

You are stepping out, sharing your message, and making your unique contribution.
