Shelter in the Storm

Shelter in the Storm

By: Susan Schiller

Standing together on our balcony, my husband and were awed by this massive bank of clouds that hovered over our community this past summer. It stirs up a memory of a night long ago when I witnessed an altogether different kind of storm… it's name was F-10.

I'll have to back up for just one moment to let you know that part of who I am is a "seer" – someone who has a gift of seeing into the future. Usually I see pretty far and it takes many years for it to happen. It's like watching the changes in the sky, and you know when a storm is brewing.

I saw families walking and talking, having fun, and eating cotton candy. It was a sunny Saturday afternoon and billowy white clouds dotted the blue skies. A fairground with games, carnival rides, and vendors created an atmosphere of leisure and playfulness. Children carried helium-filled balloons and laughed, skipped, and jumped on the green grass.

From my position in a tall watch tower nearby I saw a menacing dark shadow slowly advancing toward the blissful crowd of people. A message, like a text on a cell phone, appeared on my mental screen, saying: "The government is aware of the pending tragedy and there is nothing anyone can do to stop what is about to happen. All of the relief agencies in the country will be completely overwhelmed and under-resourced. No one can stop the pending storm. It's an F-10."

I know when I get dream messages like this, that I'm supposed to watch and pray. A watchman is assigned to protect a community of people by standing up high on a wall, or in a tower, and to alert the community's leaders – the gatekeepers – when danger is spotted.

This dream came to me ten years ago. Today our government is stockpiling weapons, ammunition, emergency food, and is taking precautions to protect government buildings in the event of future riots by civilians. A youth army, similiar to Hitler's army, is being raised and foreignors have been hired who will fire upon American civilians without fail.

In 2008 we saw the real estate bubble burst and now at the end of 2013 we are seeing signs that a similar stock market bubble may burst at any time, as evidenced by billionaires quietly withdrawing their investments.

The Winds of Change often blow storms our way as a prelude to a new way of life. I want to share with you how to avoid getting hurt by the F-10's in your life.

An F-10 is a storm that is beyond imagination in strength, devastating power, and destruction. It's off the charts, in terms of stressful. There is no avoiding it or preventing it.

What I saw from my watch tower is a transparent shield, like a glass ceiling over a shelter. Since I had this dream so many years ago, I have shared it with a few people who have confirmed that they, too, have seen the exact same type of storm shelter.

While some people are reacting to the upcoming storm by stockpiling their own weapons, food, and money; I don't believe it will be sufficient for what is up ahead. It's always good to have emergency supplies, food, and resources on hand. But for a storm of this intensity, we need a supernatural solution.

We need supernatural shelter. We need superheroes. Maybe that's why movies like "The Avengers" and "The Hunger Games" and other films have been so popular in this decade… because we sense what is happening and we need our heroes.

I believe those heroes are arising right now. Ordinary people who don't stick out in a crowd. Like Jesus, a man who Isaiah described as "no big deal".

There was nothing attractive about him,
nothing to cause us to take a second look.
He was looked down on and passed over,
a man who suffered, who knew pain firsthand.
One look at him and people turned away.
We looked down on him, thought he was scum.
But the fact is, it was our pains he carried—
our disfigurements, all the things wrong with us.

This morning I saw a man in my dreams who fits this description. He was in a store doing miracles, and he turned around to the crowd and asked, "Who wants to be next?" No one raised their hand, because they knew it meant everyone would see them naked, for they would be known each person for who they really were.

I raised my hand. The man walked over to me and said, "Do you want me to look you directly in the eye?" I knew what he meant. It meant that if I met his gaze he would see into ALL of me. He would know me as I really am. All of me. Every little bit.

I said, "Yes, please." He looked into my eyes and I felt his gaze touch every part of me. He then took me aside, whispering in my ear about the doubts and fears still bottled up inside me. And then he touched all the fibromyalgia points in my body that scream with pain at the least feathery touch. He told me my fears, doubts, and troubles were bottled up in there and that the pain needed to be released, like fluid from a cyst.

When he was done, he said, "Now you go and take their pain!"

In sharing out stories, we become "naked and unashamed" – the way God designed all of us to live. No more fear, toxic shame, or all the doubts and worries that exposure often brings. With the removal of fear and shame, our pain is released. We become who we were created to be and we are able to do all that we were created to do.

We become the superheroes this world needs! Our shelter from the storm is transparency and intimacy with God and with others.

In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity. — Albert Einstein

We can be the superhero that our children and grandchildren need by sharing our stories and creating signposts in the wilderness. By getting honest – naked an unashamed.  And that's what we do here at TeamFamilyOnline.com. We get real. We get naked. We get free.

We are choosing love today and blessing the next generation. We are rewriting our future and getting our lives back. Radical soul recovery. Not even an F-10 storm can stop people like these, because the storm is all about fear. And in a love-based reality, fear is revealed as an illusion. Sharing our stories is a fear-breaker.

With all my love,

Susan

reminds me that we must be more prayerful now more than ever, to be in the Word of God, to be aware of what's going on, to not get caught up in the foolish things that don't matter.  oh that we would turn, seek His face, repent, and be still that we might know Him more deeply.  may God have mercy on us all.

Seeing beyond what is actually happening is something I always need to be reminded of… and that’s something you, Marvia, have helped me to do! 🙂
