One for All and All for One

Sometimes a story conveys truth that goes deeper and farther than any sermon or doctoral thesis. "The Three Musketeers," for me, is such a story.
I believe in RESISTANCE. I believe there is a diabolical presence of evil that has invaded our homes, churches, government, schools – and it's dressed up to look Good.
I resist conformity to the world's system… the world's way of making money, of getting promoted, and having control and power over others. What I didn't realize is that my resistance would label me a rebel – and that good people would see my resistance as "evil". Calling evil good, and good evil seems to be the order of the day.
I believe God, today, is raising up men and women who, like the Musketeers of this story, are living the adventure of freedom, truth, and honor. We are created to be Champions. Heroes. Warriors. Peacemakers. The Bible is full of such heroes, and you and I are one of them.
I believe the greatest display of God's glory is on stage already, and the trials we've endured are our practice for the greatest show the world has yet experienced.
I don't want to remain on the sidelines. I want to be a rebel, like D'Artagnan, and to be as joyfully exuberant as he and his three heroic friends.
In the movie, the three Musketeers and their protegee, D'Artagnan, approach the throne and bow. They've given their all for the king and have won mighty battles. The king arises from his throne and addresses the court.
"Arise! Is this the man who saved my life?" …
D'Artagnan kneels as the king rests his sword on the musketeer-to-be's shoulder, saying: "The world is an uncertain realm filled with danger, and is undermined by the pursuit of power. Freedom is sacrificed when the weak are oppressed. But there are those who oppose these powerful forces, who dedicate their lives to truth, honor, and freedom. These men are known as Musketeers. Rise, D'Artagnan, and join them."
We need ALL of us, even some of those we consider our enemies.
We are a nation of "rugged individualists" and a Western mindset can get in the way of thinking of ourselves as a "team". The Bible wasn't written in a Western worldview and, like Ezekiel 34, is filled with "one anothers" and "looking out for the lost, the least, and the loveless".
As Champions, as Avengers, as Heroes… we have the ability to grin in the face of disaster, to laugh on the battlfield, and to release prisoners from dark dungeons of despair.

For me, resistance begins with coming Home. Home is the place of wholeness, rest, and oneness with our Father, with ourselves, and with each other.
It means being the real me, living in freedom, and telling my story. This is my resistance.

Susan, this is so good! And it's so true: when we resist, we will bump into pushback. Jesus is such a good example of that. And, yet, think of how much more powerful our resistance will be when we all come together, as you say! I have done some community organizing in my day (and continue to try to impliment that into my ministry.) Power is the ability to act… and in order to act we need to organize people. It sounds like this is what you are talking about.
Also, I just love your words: "Our wounds are windows for the glory of God to be displayed." Wow, powerful stuff. So profound!
