There are Things in Nature that Engender an Awful Quiet in the Heart of Man; Devil’s Tower is One of Them

Awful Quiet at Devil's Tower

In the series, "The Daily Practice" of Discovering Beauty in the World

In discovering beauty we soak in the presence of our Creator. Beauty changes us – the very cells of our body are renewed and our souls are refreshed.

At the top of the ridge I caught sight of Devil's Tower upthrust against the gray sky as if in the birth of time the core of the earth had broken through its crust and the motion of the world was begun. There are things in nature that engender an awful quiet in the heart of man; Devil's Tower is one of them." — N. Scott Momaday

Wayland, Danielle, and I agree – pictures cannot come close to the majesty of this national monument.

One of the reasons we record good memories, photos of beauty, videos of happiness is to vibrate in a healthier rhythm – in the rhythm of Life. In your mini-memoir, have you found photos that move your heart – that launch you to a new level of joy?

"Find something to feel good about and get out of the way, and allow the cells to receive what they've been asking for. That is the key to healing." ~ Abraham

With all my love,

Sue

PS Your turn now – do you have a couple of photos you can plug into your mini-memoir-in-the-making today? What will bring back those same feelings of joy and peace?

Whatever you focus on, magnifies, and you get more of. 🙂

That is amazing scenery.  I have never been to Wyoming, but the pictures you shared are beautiful.  I can tell I need to get busy taking more photos and making more photo memories for my family.  We are a homeschooling family with my husband being full time military and also an ordained minister.  So when I see pictures like yours, I am amazed by the beauty God has surrounded us with if we only take time to stop and look.  Also, I see everything like that as being a learning experience for our children.  Thanks for sharing.

Homeschooling gives you so many options for creating your own books, and indeed, a legacy. Your lives sounds like they are full of beauty every day. I’m glad you are inspired to take some pictures so that your memories will be preserved!

Thanks for coming by today 🙂

There’s a lovely path that encircles the tower from all sides. It’s most extraordinary because there is nothing like it for miles around – it’s mainly flat ground throughout that area.

Thanks for stopping by, Dannii 🙂
