Nothing is Impossible

Nothing is Impossible

By: Susan Deborah Schiller

"There is nothing you cannot do," says Tao Porchon-Lynch, 96-year old yoga instructor and ballroom dancer. You may wonder what a yoga instructor has to do with surviving sociopathic abuse. How can her version of "impossible" possibly relate to your living nightmare?

You've been beaten for over two decades. Your abuser drained you dry – emotionally, financially, and in every way possible. Only a shell of your former self remains. Your friends side with your abuser who's clever deception has isolated you. You're afraid to leave your room, and although the bars and locks are in your mind, they are just as effective as any maximum security prison in the country.

I know it seems impossible to ever live a normal life again, but believe me – believe Tao – nothing is impossible!

Tao speaks eternal Truths, and Truth sets you free. She speaks the same Truth that set me free. Truth, even if it's only a tiny speck in the distance, is a beacon of Light beckoning you home to safety. The Light is where you need to focus and run. Run, looking not to the right or left or down… just focus on the Light. How?

By telling yourself the truth.

     By getting outdoors into Nature.

By breathing deep, gulping in God's own life force.

               By renewing your mind.

By going in the opposite direction as your old nature wants to go. Those old habit trails are an endless maze – a spider's web of lies.

These are simple truths. Dancing, singing, getting out in Nature, beading, creating, poetry, contemplative photography, and telling my story (writing to freedom) have pointed me to the Light, which got my life back.

Even just five minutes at a time, do something renewing, creative, and loving for yourself. If you're afraid to leave your room or step outside of your house, give yourself five minutes. Just five minutes to breathe outdoors. Every day, take a step forward.

Radical self care is not selfish!

Your enemy is not satisfied with draining you dry – he will extort your very soul. This is a spiritual battle more than anything else. Your active participation is needed to get your life back, and only you can give yourself the love you need to make a good choice. All you need is your yes. God takes care of the rest.

All of Heaven is waiting for your yes. There's a great cloud of witnesses who are championing your cause. You are never alone.
