Finding the Priceless Pearl

Finding the Priceless Pearl

By: White Dove

Underneath the pain and grief lies your greatest blessing.

A pearl of great price is formed layer upon layer.

Abandonment floods the soul with a priceless opportunity to choose to see beyond the pain.

Rejection’s relentless persecution and torment crush the soul, but yet you choose to love again.

There is great beauty forming amidst the ashes.

Two mercies for every woe.

Layer by layer, your pearl is forming.

There in the darkness you endure yet another sting of betrayal.

You turn your face upward and rejoice in a Love that has promised to never forsake you.

You choose to trust, even when all is lost.

Fresh grief spills over into old wounds, festering with unforgiveness, pain, and bitterness.

And yet you choose to release the offenses. You choose the way of Love. You forgive and are cleansed.

Layer by layer, your pearl of great price grows more lustrous.

More fiery darts make their mark. Direct hits to your soul.

Instead of self-pity you choose to bless.

The bottom drops out of your finances, bills are overdue, and you’re about to lose your home.

You sigh. You cry. And inside you die.

But in the midst of this cruelty you abandon yourself to Love.

Layer by layer, the pain is transformed by Love into a pearl of great price.

You, my dear one, are that pearl of great price.

His life in you. Your life in Him.

The Kingdom of God is within.

You’ve purchased the pearl of great price!

“For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?Matthew 16:26

Sometimes the only response to injustice, to pain, to confusion, to all that's wrong is to pursue beauty. What is more beautiful than our own soul, made in the image of our Creator, inhabited by His Spirit, and loved by our King?

No matter what man may say, even one who knows everything about you, the only words that matter are the ones you believe and receive into your soul. Today, I ask my God what He thinks of me, what His purpose and plan for my life today in this world is, because other people have their own agendas for me… and the agenda of one who loves me is to put me through a fire that is not of love.

So I remember how priceless my soul is and I won't trust my heart to just anyone, not anymore. True love sees beyond the surface, to that innermost place in our Father's heart and sees through the lens of love.

Wow! This poem was fantastic. I'd love to write poetry, but I never feel 100% happy with it. Still, practice means perfect 🙂
