Walking in the Light

I believe we're given "mission impossibles" because there's something we need to learn about God's nature and how it alters our ongoing life story. We're each here to experience and display the glorious facets of God's nature. We're designed to SHINE!
For abuse survivors, our stories may seem dark – even impossible! Our story seems to be "too much" for most people. Most of us who have survived the ordeal of sociopathic violence to our souls feel our story could easily classify as "horror" – and what could that possibly benefit anyone? Most people don't believe us, anyway!
For me, it's the act of writing that has helped me to understand that even a "horror" story can have meaning and purpose.
"Why me? What have I done wrong? I've been praying, fasting, and seeking God – why do all these evil things keep derailing me?" I used to wonder.
I recalled God's words to me: "Nothing is impossible… put your faith, feeling, and focus into your desire and it will come to pass."
Faith + Feeling + Focus = The dream will come to pass.
None of those things are tangible materials. Very little of this world is material. Even the computer I'm typing on and the desk it sits on is mostly a whiz of energy: electrons and protons and such.
"Harness the energy" is what God was teaching me to do. To harness the energy means to take hold of faith, put all my feeling and focus into what God has promised me, and to keep lasering that faith into the heart of the Impossible Thing.
God once said to me, rule in the midst of our enemies. Not "over" your enemies, but in the midst of your enemies.
New International Version: The LORD will extend your mighty scepter from Zion, saying, "Rule in the midst of your enemies!"
The problem is most of us are double-minded. We have faith, but our minds tends to zero in on our fears. We dwell on our worries and trust those nagging doubts. Why? Because our core belief system is corrupted by pain, trauma, and unfortunate things people have said about us.
Our fears, doubts, and worries expose our core beliefs: "I am bad," or "I'm not good," or "I'm always going to be abused," or whatever it is…. these beliefs create our circumstances. Whatever our faith targets is what is given to us. What we speak is what we get. That's how the universe is set up – it's how the world works! My core beliefs were really messed up and I was full of fears, doubts, and worries… that's why evil continued to pursue and harrass me at every turn.
The best thing about exposing our core beliefs to the light is that it's a great way to find out what God's plan for us is. You see, instead of whatever our default program (the world's wicked system) was planning to dish up, God's plan is always to give us the opposite of the evil that has plagued us.
For example:
One of my core beliefs is: I am groomed by God to grin in the face of disaster because Love always wins. He is supremely confident in His ability to convert evil into Good, and therefore, I can face the future with confidence. I rule in the midst of my enemies. I no longer need to bow to forces that are challenged by my truth; instead, I triumph over those forces and put them on the run. I release the captives, beginning in my own life, my own home, and my community.
Shorter version: The enemy groomed me for abuse; God is grooming me for His Glory, and to partner with him in making the world new and beautiful.
I was once called "the most abused wife" my counselors had yet met. But my story didn't end there. Using God's promises and the vision he had for my life, I altered the course of my life. You can, too!
It's our perception that alters the story. No story is too small, too mundane, or to horrible! Together, as we walk in the Light by knowing our story and communicating what has happened to us, we are taking giant steps forward in changing the world and bringing light to this dark planet.
I believe with all my heart that we can write ourselves into a better world! I believe God is calling heart scribes – men and women who intimately know him – to HARNESS THE ENERGY, to SHIFT our position from victims to overcomers, and to COMMAND enemy forces to depart. Words are powerful, especially when they are written for future generations to continue the legacy-story you've begun.
There is so much of God's glory in one single human being, and each one of us has a facet of God's nature displayed within the pages of our life story. What are your core beliefs? Have you been able to convert your default programming to conform to God's purpose and plan for your life?
The only offensive weapon in our war against evil is the Truth – it's a double-edged sword. The WORD, written and spoken, faithfully will set captives free! This is a spiritual sword – it's harnessed energy – and when you put all your faith, feeling, focus into it, like a laser beam into the Impossible Thing, that mountain has to move. Whatever obstacle it is, it has to move, even if it's as big as a mountain (John 14).
Writing prompt: Using God's promises and employing the "instead of" in Isaiah 61, craft a core belief statement that defines your focus. In faith, feeling what it feels like to be, do, and have what God promised, begin to tell yourself the Truth every time a nagging doubt or worry intrudes in your mind. Aim that sword at the Impossible Thing and keeping telling your new story until the shift comes! You're a warrior now, RUN to the battle! Lift your head high!

Without focus or direction,
thought is a vast oceanic current going nowhere.

Few people realise the true power of
thought. Books are written on the
subject, and read, but the true reality
seldom sinks in – our thoughts give
meaning and shape to our lives.
The vast majority of people think their
thoughts without any awareness of
what those thoughts are creating, or
where their thoughts might lead them.
Your thoughts are a vast power. You
either direct that power, or you let it
run wild.
Put simply, wild means confusion in your
life, while directed thought can be used
for your greater benefit.
Your choice is in your thinking. Think
about it, and . . . choose Love.
