Healing the Mind, Body, and Soul through the Daily Practice of Discovering Beauty and Truth

Healing from sociopathic abuse is a journey of transforming the mind, body, and soul. It’s an adventure in freedom and fullness. In pursuing beauty, through art, photography, and other creative avenues, we find rest for our souls and healing for our minds. Our bodies are gradually healed, too.

This is the “Daily Practice” of renewing our minds through beauty and truth.

By: White Dove The most incredible light and beauty is showcased within a shrowd of darkness. It's like a dance of Light, a grand choreography by a Master Cosmic Artist. In the early nights of my soul quest I slowly walk in deep awe and wonder through the vast canyon as dusk turns to twilight and as twilight deepens into a startlingly […]

The best part about being lost is finding familiar ground! By: White Dove After 5,000+ miles on my mobile vision quest, I'm visiting back home in Montana. It's been a few years since I hiked in these woods and a lot has changed. The cold crystal clear Vermillion River is braided and changes its course every few […]

Quest To See Beyond By: White Dove My eyes are in a state of wonder. The sky today is a deep cerulean blue; the sun is peeking from the towering bull pines and lodge poles, towering more than 50 feet tall. In the distance is a tree-lined mountain peak, usually snow-capped, but in August it’s finally all green. […]

To Stand in the Shock Waves and Shine By: White Dove   Photo Source “I’m grooming you to grin in the face of disaster,” I heard Papa God say as I was listening in prayer one day. You see, part of my family legacy is to worry. I tend to worry about things as tenaciously as […]

Soaking in the Source of Life By: Susan Deborah Schiller There is a reservoir of beauty and truth hidden beneath the surface of outward life. It can be tapped into, like a tree taps into the underground springs. I call it "soaking" because in those moments of solitude, silence, and seeking God in the darkness is like tapping into an […]

The Power of Beauty By: White Dove “The world will be saved by beauty.” — Doestoevsky Since I moved out West the majesty of snow-capped mountains, rushing white-water rivers, and the beauty of wild flowers and trees have rejuvenated my weary soul. Beauty has seemingly magical power to cleanse and illuminate the dark places in our […]

Sparrow Talk By: Susan Deborah Schiller If I were a sparrow, what would I see each day? Big birds, and lots of them, pushing and fighting for the best sunflower seeds. When the big birds swoop in, the sparrows flee to the nearest tree. Sparrows don't push or fight, but their needs and wants are […]

Writing through Disability, Disease, and Death By: White Dove From my mini-memoir… Sixty percent of our North American population relies on some type of drug to control their dis-ease. Five Good Things, Maybe Six By: Susan Schiller In the aftermath of marriage with a sociopath, I have often felt like a piece of machinery that was fashioned and designed to do good works but who was left behind in the middle of an empty field. Forgotten. Rejected. Unwanted. Broken. Thanksgiving changes that negative feeling, every […]
